Purpose:
To increase the profile and visibility of IDSOG as an organization, IDSOG members and research, training, education and policy related to IDSOG’s mission.
Composition:
- Chair = Council member
- Up to eight (8) members
- 2 Full members (all in good standing) + 2 new member/young investigator level / member-in-training
- Includes the person designated as the Twitter Officer who is responsible for managing the Twitter account
- 3-year term; with staggered terms and opportunity to be re-appointed for a second term
Goals:
- Promoting IDSOG and IDSOG-related content on social media (twitter, Facebook)
- Website updating
- Promoting works of members – recent publications, grants, guidelines
- Facilitating member participation in podcasts, panels, webinars, etc.
- Survey new attendees, trainees and scholars after meeting
Time Commitment:
- Quarterly phone calls – and whatever work ensues from those conversations
- For the Twitter Officer, ideally 1-2 tweets per week, facilitated by a monthly PubMed search for IDSOG-member publications to be tweeted for content

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Committee
Purpose:
The IDSOG Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Committee is comprised of multidisciplinary IDSOG members who are responsible for ensuring open and continuous communication to collaboratively consult, support and partner with those engaged in work to achieve equity, reproductive justice and anti-racism within our organization, with IDSOG’s work with other organizations and advocating for these goals for women’s health care.
Composition:
- Chairs = Members appointed by the president, serving 2 years – but can be reappointed for successive terms.
- Additional members (ideally 3-5) shall be composed of a diverse group of individuals:
o Young member within 5 years of joining society (Non physician member(s)
o At least one trainee (Resident or Fellow)
o Diverse representation
o Ability to network across the specialty
Goals:

- Ensure society membership and committee membership are diverse and inclusive.
- Review society policies to assure language in such documents reflect equity and inclusion and does not limit participation or diversity in any way.
- Ability to network across the specialty
- Periodically review and update anti-harassment policy
- Collaborate with ACOG and other related organizations to maintain our organization’s compliance with diversity equity and inclusion standards for annual scientific programs and other virtual or in person meetings
- Promote and advocate for policies and leaders that bridge the health disparities gap and address social determinants of health especially women’s health
Committee Responsibilities:
- Evaluate committee membership policies and qualification criteria.
- Work to achieve greater diversity and inclusion in our organization.
- Bring awareness to the history of racism, bias, mistreatment of Black enslaved women, Black women, and other women of color in the name of scientific advancement.
- Promote the conduct of research that ensures equity and anti-racism with intentional efforts to support research that ethically addresses systemic and institutional racism manifested through disparate outcomes.
- Ensure that women’s health care is free from racism and bias.
- Educate members about our biases and knowledge gaps as regards to DEI
Time Commitment:
- Participate in scheduled conference calls to work towards achieving the committee’s work plan and goals.
- Attendance at a face-to-face meeting at the IDSOG Annual Meeting.
- Promote DEI objectives at IDSOG annual scientific meeting

The IDSOG Membership Committee is comprised of multidisciplinary IDSOG members who are responsible for overseeing the expansion and retention of our membership base, enhancing diversity, and enriching membership experience. Committee members also serve as society ambassadors to our members and friends.
Composition:
- Chair = Member appointed by the president, serving 2 years – but can be reappointed for successive terms.
- Additional members (ideally 3-5) shall be composed of a diverse group of individuals:
o Young member within 5 years of joining society (Non physician member(s)
o At least one trainee (Resident or Fellow)

Purpose:
Responsible for identifying, recruiting, evaluating, and recommending candidates for officers and council members. Any member of the Society may submit names to the Nomination Committee for its consideration.
Composition:
- Chair = the Immediate Past President shall be an ex-officio member of the Committee, and act as Chair
- The Nomination Committee shall consist of four (4) to eight (8) members, at least two (2) of whom shall be Past Presidents of the Society, appointed for the ensuing year by the newly elected President and approved by the Council.
Time Commitment:
- Participate in scheduled conference calls to work towards achieving the committee’s work plan and goals.
- Participate in project work throughout the year as needed.
- Committee Term: two years with the ability to extend.
Purpose:
To maintain the quality of the content of the Annual Meeting, ensuring consistency, continuity, and balance in the programming. This committee is responsible for the scientific review of the abstracts, posters, and symposia submitted for the Annual Meeting, with input from the Board.
Composition:
- Chair = shall be appointed by the President, shall serve two-year terms, and shall be members of the Council.
- Committee membership shall be designated by the chairman of the committee.
- Membership shall be for a term of two years with reappointment for successive terms permitted.
Time Commitment:
- Participate in scheduled conference calls to work towards achieving the committee’s work plan and goals.
- Attendance at a face-to-face meeting at the IDSOG Annual Meeting.
- Participate in project work throughout the year as needed.
